So I'm 13 weeks today- yay! :) All four (lol) of my ultrasounds have measured exactly on date, and the most recent one that looks for signs of downs was perfect too. Heart rate has always been high - 159-162, but I know the heart rate thing is an old wives tale. Gender scan is at 21 weeks - Dec 22nd. I told DH if they cant find it Im booking a 3d scan at a private clinic! DH is [I]sure[/I] its a girl- I think it is too but know that I could be wrong. We've had a hard time with names- I like names that are less common but not weird, and no weird spellings, but not every day names. DH likes every day, simple, common names. He suggested Sarah, I said no because its too common (no offense to moms of Sarahs!), but it grew on me and now DH is calling referring to her as Sarah! :lol: Now I just think of the baby as Sarah, so I suspect thats what it will be if she is a she after all. The only boy name we have is Jack- its not either of our very favorites but we have a solid "last resort name". Other then that I'm still horribly, horribly, ill- even with the zofran. I asked the Dr for something else, but she didnt think the side effects would be worth it for me and since I was 12 weeks I should feel better any day. I took this week off work- Im only part time, but I call in at least once a week and go home early all the time. I talked to my boss after she talked to the dept head, and they want me to stay and are ok with me shifting my hours around and putting them in where I can. I'm really hoping to stop feeling sick this week since I took the week off, but I woke up with a cold! Bah! I did eat a sandwich this morning though which is wonderful, although I usually dont start feeling puke-sick until ~3pm. Yesterday was horrible and I was in tears more of the day, I just need the sickness to pass. Poor Ben is alone almost all the time- he comes home from school and I sleep til dinner and then feel sick from dinner til bed. He is old enough to understand, but yesterday we didnt go to the pumpkin patch because I was so sick, and I dont want him to resent the baby. :( I'm not a praying woman, but last night I was sure putting the message out there that I would be very grateful if I could stay pregnant but not feel sick!! I havent taken any belly pics yet- I do have a little belly but it really does just look like a beer gut. I'm a little overweight to begin with, so it doesnt look much like baby!

We had out 12 week u/s and everything looks great! Heart rate was 159 on the u/s and later 162 with the doppler. :) I'll post the photos later- DH took them to work with him. They measured the neck and said it looks perfect and she didnt see an indication of downs at all, but we wait for the 2nd round of blood work after the 16 week draw before ruling it out. Bummer is that they will NOT do another u/s before 20 weeks, even though I whined lol. they said they couldn't really tell the sex before then, but I told them we knew Ben was a boy at 17 weeks so please do it sooner. They wouldnt go for it! And then my Dr will be away my whole 20th week, so I'm booked for exactly 21 weeks for the scan. The receptionist wouldnt even book be for the Friday at 19w5d, I was so annoyed... but, DH's parent will be here during that time- its Dec 22nd! So maybe they will come with us and we will bring Ben to find out what it is. Patience is NOT a virtue of mine...

Yay for Sunday!

Im so glad tomorrow is Sunday- Ben as 9am soccer games on Saturdays and I cant WAIT to sleep in. 

Im still thrilled to be pregnant- I just cant wait to get past the first trimester. I am so tired and sick its hard to manage...theres no break from it. Its tired and sick almost 100% of the time. I threw up in the shower the other day which was an adventure! Im also missing tons of work which I hate... I would much rather be at work then at home sick. 

N0 belly pics to share yet- there is a little bump, but right now I still just look like I have a pot belly.  I cant wait to get to the 20th- we have our 12 week u/s, and after that I will tell more people about our wee one. It will also be the start of my 2nd trimester, which will hopefully mean less puking!
