And Ben is now a proud owner of a brand new dad! : )

The whole thing was literally 10 mintues- our lawyer asked DH to confirm that we had A's consent papers (judge had them already, but it was part of the decree), that he could financially support Ben, and that he wanted to adopt Ben. The judge asked Ben if he wanted to be adopted and Ben paused (I almost had a heart attack) and yelled "of course!!"

The judge said he felt it was in Ben's best insterest for DH to adopt him and that he was approving the adoption request. I cried, and DH's mom got teary-eyed (his parents came- theyre here for Christmas but leave tomorrow).

I almost cried a lot more- Ben has been waiting for a dad his whole life. Immediately after Ben hugged DH and said "I love you dad!". (Im welling up now remembering it). Ben is thrilled :)
